Useful Properties of Maple Syrup. Storage Conditions

There are many of syrups' varieties. So, there are the rosehip and berry syrups, many others. One of the most useful syrups is a maple syrup, which has useful properties and unusual taste. It turns out that this syrup contains even more useful mineral and organic substances than a honey. In addition, this product is low-calorie, and therefore suitable for specific individuals who wish to get rid of excess pounds.

The maple syrup is a very thick and viscous liquid that has a dark yellow, amber shade. The syrup has the inherent uncharacteristic for other products earthy taste. This syrup is made from sugars of red and black maple. However, it should be noted that the usual maple will not be suitable, but only some it's sorts. Typically, these species of maple grow in the North America and Scotland. First, a juice is made of the maple, and then, finally, the syrup is getting with the help of water evaporation from this juice.

Useful Properties of Maple Syrup

So, what is known about the beneficial properties of maple syrup? The maple syrup's useful composition attracts attention to this product. Thus, it contains about 54 natural components, minerals, antioxidants and vitamins, the role of which, of course, is very high. For example, the antioxidants contained in this syrup are also found in the plants such as tomatoes and wheat, flax and red berries. It is noteworthy that a quarter of a cup of maple syrup contains much more calcium than one cup of cow's milk. Also, it has a lot of potassium and even more than in the bananas. The most important advantage of the maple syrup over other products, including sweets, is that it contains very few oxalates, which often cause food allergy.

The most important property of the maple syrup is its antibacterial and antidiabetic properties. Getting inside our body, the syrup neutralizes and disinfects those parts of the organism where these bacteria accumulated. By the way, when using the syrup, it is useful to hold it for a while in the mouth because this part of the body is exposed by the most polluting of harmful substances in the whole organism. Also, the maple syrup has anti-cancer and cardiological properties.

The composition of the maple syrup includes manganese − the most important element, which serves as the basis of different enzymes. It takes an active part in protecting the organism from free radicals, and also helps produce a large amount of energy. Also, warns the emergence and development of stress and post-stress conditions. Among other things, the manganese increases the ability of oxygen circulation in the organism.

The maple syrup is one of the most effective means to combat excessive amounts of glucose in the blood. Surprisingly, despite the large amount of sugar, the maple syrup, it would seem, does the opposite function. However, in addition to sugar, in the syrup there are abscisic acids that stimulate the secretion of insulin in the pancreas and also increase the sensitivity of fat cells to the insulin action. Thus, the maple syrup is one of the most effective means for treating diabetes.

The useful properties of the product in question do not end there. The maple syrup is an excellent tool for fighting atherosclerosis. This is facilitated by the presence of zinc in its composition. Also, this micro-element is needed in order to provide a reliable layer of the endothelium. This layer covers the inner walls of the blood vessels. Also, it has a beneficial effect on protecting the body from the oxidative action of fat and cholesterol, in particular.

The maple syrup is useful and for the reproductive function in men. Diseases associated with this function, usually begin because of a decrease in the level of zinc in the organism, and in the prostate, in particular. It increases the risk of developing and developing the cancers, so the maple syrup is quite effective and valuable in this case.

How to choose and store the maple syrup?

Most often, the quality of this syrup depends on the three components. Therefore, you must choose the product based on them:

1. The color of the product. It should be light amber, usual amber or dark amber shade.
2. The taste of the syrup. It should be sweet, but in moderation. Has an earthy smack and have no sour taste.
3. The concentration of the product. It should be thick, and at the same time flowable. It should not be liquid and transparent.

As for the storage of the maple syrup, it must be stored in a dark and cool place. The fridge for this is the perfect place. So, now you know about the beneficial properties of the maple syrup, and how to properly choose and store it at home.
