Initially, there was nothing known about the beneficial properties of black-currant. However, after a while its healing properties were manifested because of which the black-currant have become so popular and widespread. As is clear to all, in any kind of the currant there is a set of many vitamins, and the black variety is not an exception. So, what is useful in the black-currant and what are its medicinal properties?

- a large amount of vitamin P and E;
- vitamins of group B;
- the content of vitamins K and C.
 
The black-currant is rich in volatile oils, which are known for their diuretic and choleretic properties, as well as their anti-inflammatory effect. And some acids present in the berries, which take part in the processes of digestion and absorption of substances coming from the food.
 
The use of the black-currant helps strengthening immunity, thanks to the presence of vitamins and minerals. For example, the currant contains a large amount of vitamin C, which does not lose its properties even when frozen. Thus, you can safely freeze, and at the right time unfreeze the black-currants, and they will remain the same useful. Vitamin P, for example, helps in the treatment and prevention of serious diseases such as atherosclerosis. It is noteworthy that it is vitamin P in the black-currants that is the most, and in such quantities it is not found in any analogical berries. By the way, to provide the human organism with a daily rate of vitamins, only about 1.8-2 ounces of such useful components are needed.
 
The black-currant is an excellent remedy for preventing viral and infectious diseases. For example, it has a significant impact on the fight against such viruses as staphylococcus, causative agents of dysentery and diphtheria, helps in the fight against fungal diseases and, of course, with catarrhal viruses. The black-currant, or its juice activate antimicrobial bacteria, which subsequently and fight with all microbes.
 
It is worth noting the use of the currants in intestinal disorders, problems with the gastrointestinal tract, ulcerous diseases and so on. It is quite advisable to use the black-currant with gastritis (however not in the acute form), as well as the people, who has a low acidity. Also, the black-currant is useful in liver diseases. For example, it is useful with hepatitis or anemia, as well as with kidney disease, and even tuberculosis. It is very popular the properties of juice from the black-currant, jam, syrup and any other product that is obtained by processing this berry. For instance, the jam and the juice are used against colds, flu and other viral diseases.
 
Also, the black-currants are used against hypertension. To do this, take about one pound of the currant, get juice from it, and add about four flat tablespoons of honey. All these carefully stir, and add any mineral water. Drink the beverage three times a day after meals and in abundant quantities − in the morning. It is useful to give the black-currant and its final products to the children (beginning at the age of three years). In the future, this will have a positive effect on their immunity, and the number of diseases will drop dramatically. The black-currant also differs in its effect on the organs of sight. So, with its help, the work of the nerve endings of the eye is stabilized and the eyes' fatigue and tension will not be felt so much. Contraindications to the Use of Black-Currant

As for the contraindications to the use of the black-currant, then here can be noted only a few key points. Firstly, it is not recommended using it for those who have the suspicions of allergies, especially on allergies to vitamins. Since the fact that there are more than enough of them in the currants, unpleasant side-effects can occur. Also, it is undesirable to use it for a disease such as thrombophlebitis. The use of the black-currant can increase the folding ability of blood, and it is strictly contraindicated in this disease.
