For example, it helps get rid of, or, at least reduce the level of harmful cholesterol in the blood, and also helps to restore carbohydrate and lipid metabolisms. Among other things, the pectin can effectively fight bacteria and related diseases associated with organs of the gastrointestinal tract. It also affects the external tissues of the body, contributing to the healing of wounds and the restoration of the skin after burns. In addition, the marmalade helps in the process of cleansing the body − in these cases it helps to dislodge the heavy metals and its compounds from the organism and also rid it of the presence of radioactive nuclides. 

If the marmalade is made on the basis of the agar-agar, its useful functions will be slightly different and supplemented. For example, such marmalade is useful for the restoration and normalization of the liver and pancreas, helping to displace toxins, heavy slags and other substances accumulated in the organism from outside world. Since agar-agar in principle is made from the seaweed, it is an excellent source of iodine, which has its important functions. The most famous and effective of them is the promotion of the thyroid gland and its protection. Plus, an additional useful function when using the marmalade on the basis of agar-agar, is the normalization of the digestive system, as well as the improvement of the stomach's peristalsis. 

The benefit of marmalade is also in the assistance of normal brain functionality, as well as for recovery after exhausting physical or mental stress. That is why, the most often marmalade is recommended after the body is cured after various diseases that is, to restore its strength. 

Harm of Marmalade 

Of course, in addition to the positive qualities, the marmalade has a number of shortcomings and contraindications, which must also be taken into account before eating it. So, the harm of marmalade lies in those some components that are the part of its composition because in addition to the natural and useful ingredients, in the modern marmalade there are food's colors and various chemical additives that often cause the allergic diseases, the stomach's disorders, the rashes and so on. 

In addition, it is not recommended eating a lot of marmalade for those who have the diabetes and high blood sugar. In such cases, it is better to buy a special dietary marmalade, which instead of glucose, will have fructose in its composition. It is this marmalade that is allowed to be consumed, but in a limited quantity. 

Do not give too much marmalade to the children, as using it in excessive amounts can cause caries and other diseases of the mouth.
