Calluna Vulgaris – Use and Application

The calluna vulgaris helps get rid of inflammation in the organism, oral cavity and throat. In particular, it is expedient to apply it for the duration of stomatitis, tonsillitis or pharyngitis. Recipes and Ways to Use Calluna Vulgaris 

As mentioned earlier, the calluna vulgaris is not consumed in fresh form. Based on it, they make decoctions, infusions, teas, and other useful products. You should know how to prepare and cook the calluna. Therefore, we will give some valuable recipes for its right preparing. 

With the development of kidney disease, liver and gall bladder, gout and rheumatism in the joints, you need 0.7 oz of grass pour over one cup of boiling water, boil in a water bath for 15 minutes, insist 45 minutes and filter. Take one third of cup two-three times a day before meals. 

In the gastritis with a high acidity, the enteritis and colitis, the diarrhea, you need 0.7 oz of grass pour over two cups of boiling water in a thermos, insist two hours and filter. Take for a half cup four times a day.  

In the atherosclerosis and arthritis, the nervous exhaustion, or the insomnia two tablespoons of chopped herb poured 34 oz of water, stew 15 minutes on a low heat, infuse, then, wrap for a night and filter. Drink as tea or water at any time of the day. The course of treatment is three months, two weeks break and repeats the course. 

With the cystitis and the puffiness it needs 0.4 oz of grass pour over one cup of boiling water, stew on a water bath for 30 minutes, insist 10 minutes and filter. Take two tablespoons three-four times daily before meals.

With the bronchitis or the tuberculosis one tablespoon (heaped) of chopped calluna pours with 17 oz of boiling water, stew on a low heat for 10 minutes, insist, wrap for three hours and filter. Take a half of cup two times a day.

A tea from the calluna vulgaris is useful for the insomnia and the gastritis, the heart disease and the neurasthenia. So, it should be one teaspoon of herb, pour over a quart of boiling water for 10 minutes and then filter. Take this tea in the warm form, small sips, for one cup a day. 

Baths with the calluna. Such baths are useful for the edema of legs and the rheumatism, with the radiculitis and the gout, the luxations or the bruises, as well as the fractures of bones. It should be a little more than two oz of grass pour 14 pints of boiling water, insist 30 minutes and filter. Pour into a bath with a water temperature of 95-99 °F, the duration of the procedure is 15-20 minutes. 

Compresses can often be used for diseases of joints and rheumatism, arthritis and polyarthritis, gout. It is necessary to pour one tablespoon of calluna with one and a half of cups of boiling water, insist in a thermos for two hours and filter. Fold the gauze in two-three layers, abundantly moisten with the mixture. Apply to the sore spots for 30-60 minutes one-two times a day. 

Such simple, but useful recipes with the using of calluna vulgaris will be useful in the treatment of many ailments. Do not forget that the plant has its own contraindications, which include the individual intolerance, cannot be used with the reduced acidity, as well as for the people suffering from constipation and for those who are concerned about drowsiness and frequent loss of activity.
