Also, the papaya contains the plant substances and the oxidants, such as lutein and zeaxanthin, lycopene and thiamine. In addition, there are micro-elements, such as the folic acid and iron, the calcium and chlorine, the potassium and phosphorus, and many other mineral components. As for the caloric content, it is very low − only 55 kcal. 

Useful Qualities of Papaya 

As for the useful properties of this product, they cover almost all the vital systems of the organism. First, the use of papaya promotes the prevention of diabetes mellitus, lowering cholesterol, and its safe removal from the body, prevents inflammation of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract and the large intestine. The dietary fibres that make up this product have the unique properties for binding and removing the toxins from organism without any consequences for themselves. 

Also interesting is the fact that the papaya's pulp and its peel are able to quickly heal wounds, so often, the papaya is used precisely as a means for wound healing, and is also a part of the facial masks. The influence of papaya on the organs of vision is very, very significant. So, this fruit supplies the eyes with all the nourishing minerals, necessary for their normal work, and in addition, slows the wear and aging of the retina. 

Also, the papaya contains the very useful enzymes, such as arginine, carpaine and others. These substances to a great extent help reestablish the reproductive function in the men, and also promote active digestion and assimilation of the protein products. Among other things, the papaya enzymes help regulate the heart and prevent the development of heart disease, and the fibrin, which is part of this fruit, promotes the rapid blood clotting, which is also certainly useful. Often, the papaya becomes the subject of the recommendations for the pregnant women because its fruits are rich in folic acid − vitamins B9 and B6. These vitamins are useful not only during the pregnancy, but also during the postnatal period, when it is necessary to breast-feed the baby. Contraindications to Use of Papaya
