Useful Properties of Durian

A durian is the plant that has a specific, repulsive smell, but for a good reason has received the title of "King of Fruits". In this article, we will discuss the useful properties of durian, its effect on the human body and about the cases when the fruit can be extremely useful.

Many who have at least once held in hand or tried the durian, know that with this fruit it is better not to appear in places of congestion − in elevators and shops, taxis and hotels. Unfortunately, this fruit has a very persistent and not the most pleasant aroma, which even after consumption, remains in the room for a time. Therefore, it is best not to store the durian for a long time at home or in the refrigerator, and use it as soon as possible. However, despite this significant drawback, the fetus of durian has a superb taste. So, its taste resembles a mixture of cream from the milk and the eggs, and if you have such an opportunity, be sure to taste the "smelling" fruits of durian.

Caloric Value and Composition

The durian's energy value is about 145 Kcal per 100g of flesh. This fruit has a low fat content, but an increased content of carbohydrates. Therefore, frequent using (hardly anyone, of course, can often eat it) can lead to a set of extra pounds.

So, in the durian contains about 3.2g of protein and 9.5g of fat, as well as 23g of carbohydrates (all of this, per 100g of product). In addition, the fruit contains 1.1g of ash, about 4g of fibre and 65g of the whole composition − is water.

The durian's fetuses contain a huge amount of vitamins and minerals. In particular, it contains a large amount of vitamin A (aka, the beta-carotene), vitamin B9 (the folic acid), as well as vitamin C (the ascorbic acid). For these vitamins, the durian is a record holder. A little less, but there are the vitamins B3 and PP, the vitamins B1 and B2, as well as a small amount of vitamin B6.

Between the micro and macro elements that make up this fetus, it is worth noting a record number of potassium and manganese, as well as a large amount of copper. Slightly less in the durian, you can find the phosphorus and the magnesium, the sodium and the calcium, even less − the zinc and the ferrum.

Useful Properties of Durian

The durian's fruits differ not only in their special taste or aroma, they are very useful. In many ways, it is due to the content of organic sulfur. Also, thanks to the content of indole, the durian is very useful as a bactericidal agent.

It is noteworthy that the durian-based tablets "Dur-India" were manufactured on the basis of durian. This drug is stimulated and strengthened the immune system, and also made the organism stronger and tireless. In addition, durian-based drugs are suitable for rejuvenating the organism.

One of the strongest properties of the fruits of the plant is the enhancement of potency. Therefore, it is useful to use the durian to middle-aged men. Also, the flesh of these fruits has the anthelmintic properties. In the folk- medicine, not only the fruits of the durian are used, but also the roots and leaves of this plant. On their basis, a decoction is prepared, which is an excellent antipyretic agent. When it is the fever, the durian's juice is applied to the head in the form of lotion. To remove the skin inflammation, it is enough to prepare the right broth on the basis of leaves and durian's fetuses.

If you have problems with the gall bladder, it is enough to eat the flesh of this fruit one-two times a day. The durian's ash is used in the postpartum period.

Harmful Properties of Durian

Please note that this tropical fruit is not only useful, but also dangerous. So, it is categorically not recommended for the people with a high blood pressure. The durian is a strong allergen that is harmful to the pregnant women or people with the intolerance or the allergies. It is not recommended interfering with the durian with the alcoholic beverages, as this can cause the poisoning or other complications. Therefore, be extremely careful when using the durian.
